KPC Donates Basic Food
The Kutai Timur Regency Government noted that the impact of the floods that hit the seven sub-districts in the regency in May 2021 had reached 3,290 households. Most of the victims’ houses were flooded so that they suffered material losses.
Kutai Timur Deputy Regent Dr. H Kasmidi Bulang ST MM, Saturday (22/5/2021) told reporters that the government, together with the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) and related stakeholders, have worked hard to deal with the flood victims.
One of the things that has been done, according to Kasmidi, is the distribution of humanitarian aid in the form of basic food packages to the flood victims. “We see that today KPC has made an extraordinary contribution. The items donated were also various, in the form of rice, cooking oil, instant noodles, milk, coffee, tea, sugar, “said Kasmidi.
Furthermore, the Deputy Regent expressed his appreciation and gratitude to the companies that have helped. “Companies in rural areas have been helping since the beginning. Today, we accept donations from KPC. We thank KPC for its support to ease the burden on these flood victims, “said the Deputy Regent.
The Deputy Regent said that there were eight sub-districts in the interior of East Kutai that had been affected by the flood disaster. Among others, Muara Bengkal, Muara Ancalong, Long Mesangat, Batu Ampar, Wahau, Kombeng, Telen and Busang Districts. “The districts of Muara Bengkal, Muara Ancalong, Long Mesangat and Busang have been visited by the Regent. Now my team and I will focus on four other sub-districts, namely Batu Ampar, Wahau, Kombeng and Telen, ”said Kasmidi Bulang.
External Relations Manager Yordhen Ampung said the assistance was handed over through the Kutai Timur Regency Government, so that the distribution would be more targeted and evenly distributed in all affected areas. With that, it is hoped that the flood victims will recover quickly and they can start their normal activities.
“We hope that what we have done will lighten the burden of our brothers and sisters who were hit by the flood. Prayers for all of us, that the floods will soon subside and the victims will stay healthy,”said Yordhen. (*)
