KPC 2018 Biggest Tax Payer

PT. Kaltim Prima Coal (KPC), once again was awarded as the biggest tax payer company year 2018. The award was given by Kantor Pelayanan Pajak (Tax Service Office) Pratama Bontang, in the event of Tax Gathering, Wednesday (10/10), in Hotel Royal Victoria, Sangatta.

The award was handed over by the Head of KPP Pratama Bontang Windu Kumoro to KPC General Manager External Affairs and Sustainable Development (GM ESD) Wawan Setiawan. “Thank you for the award given to KPC. We are proud to be able to give biggest contribution for government revenue, both at the central and reginal levels,” said Wawan.

According to Wawan, the award received was the result of the hard work of all employees and support from government and community. “This is the result of the hard work of all employees, contractors, and of course the support of the government and the people of East Kutai,” said Wawan.

Previously at the record breaking of Indonesian Record Museum (MURI) mass tax payment program, KPC immediately deposited more than Rp 100 billion. The tax paid by KPC was also the highest payment in the record-breaking event initiated by the Regency Government of East Kutai.

GM ESD Wawan Setiawan said, the deposit of more than Rp 100 billion was a combination of PPH 21 employee income tax, aviation service tax, shipping service tax, rental service tax, construction services tax, other service tax. Other than that, there was tax article 26, as well as sales tax and income tax article 25. While in terms of allocation, the tax consists of central and regional taxes.

Head of the North East Kalimantan Directorate General of Tax Regional Office Samon Jaya expressed his gratitude for KPC’s contribution and at the same time gave an example to other tax payer to pay taxes. “KPC is an example of a company that pays taxes. We thank you, hopefully other companies can participate,” said Samon.

Mass tax paid with theme ‘From Sangatta for Indonesia Tax Awareness” was held as one of the series to commemorate the Oeng (Money) Day which was on October 30th and the anniversary of the 19th East Kutai Regency which was on October 12th.

At the event, the MURI record of mass tax payment successfully achieved by East Kutai with funds collected reaching Rp 177 billion and tax payers who paid simultaneously as many as 12 thousand. This figure was calculated to come from the central tax collection with a value of Rp 107.304.748.580, and the regional tax of East Kutai Regency was Rp 6.479.565.614 and the regional tax of East Kalimantan was Rp 63.329.352.725.

Regent of East Kutai, Ir H.Ismunandar MT said, the achievement of this MURI record could be a momentum to increase regional revenue. “Through this mass tax payment, it is expected to increase public awareness to fulfill their obligations as taxpayers, and can motivate other regions to participate in increasing their tax revenues,” he concluded.(*)
